Eric release his greatest hits - 2007-09-20
Eric Clapton will launch a greatest hit album called “Complete Clapton”, expected to ship retailers on October 9, via Reprise Records. The two-disc compilation will come out in simultaneous with his book Clapton: An Autobiography, which is about his 40 years as a musician and performer. Some of the tracks includes: Knockin' on Heaven's Door; Wonderful Tonight; Layla; Cocaine.

Eric Clapton and George Harrison once faced a passion guitar duet to win the love of gorgeous model Pattie Boyd. Clapton was drunk when he showed up at Harrison-Boyd residence to fight for Harrison then wife love. As Boyds writes in her memoirs, “George handed him a guitar and an amp - as an 18th century gentleman might have handed his rival a sword - and for two hours, without a word, they duelled. "At the end, nothing was said but the general feeling was that Eric had won. He hadn't allowed himself to get riled or go in for instrumental gymnastics as George had. Even when he was drunk, his guitar-playing was unbeatable." Like a fairy tale, Boyd split from Harrison, calling their life together "ludicrous and hateful" and married Clapton in 1979.

The daughter of famous rock star Eric Clapton has scolded curious fans of her dad's music with bitter message on her MySpace page. Ruth Clapton, 22, is angry with strangers who approach her in the streets to poke about her celeb father. On her MySpace site she writes: "I'm Ruth, yeah yeah my dad's a guitarist and yeah he's quite famous and yeah that means you're gonna ask me personal questions and then get mardy (moody) as f**k when I say really its none of your business." "Welcome to my world baby, pricks coming up to me in town saying 'Bet your right rich, who have you met what's famous?, what's your dad like,' etc etc etc! Why the f*#k am I going to tell you, you p*#sed up lout! (sic)."
Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 - 2007-03-26
Eric Clapton has presented in deep detail his second Crossroads Guitar Festival. The 2007 edition will be performed on July 28th in Bridgeview, Illinois, just outside Chicago, and many of Clapton's fellows will be there such as Steve Winwood, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, and Jimmie Vaughan. The one-day show , which will set at noon, also announces the performances by Clapton band members Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II. Clapton said, "The Crossroads Festival is the realization of a dream for me, to gather a group of amazingly talented musicians to perform on one stage. The Crossroads performers are all musicians I admire and respect."
